Invisible Designs

This project involved creating a brand identity and promotional materials for Invisible Designs, a symposium bringing together designers and scholars to celebrate the contributions of designers and typographers of color.

The main graphic concept alludes to the tagline I chose, Unearthing erased histories in graphic design. The logo and sections of content on both print and digital seem to be excavated — discovered, made visible — as precious resources that the communities that create them have a right to claim. The earth tones in the color palette complement this idea, while the teals provide contrast — its use for the duotone treatment of graphic work also creating a semiotic distinction between earthen elements and manmade art.
